NICHOLAS TINE

Nicholas (Nick) Tine is the Office and Garden Assistant at Smile Farms, where he plays a key role in supporting both daily garden operations and office administration. He assists with activities in the St. Catherine of Siena Hospital community garden and provides clerical and organizational support in the Jericho office. Nick helps maintain inventory of office and garden supplies, restocks materials, and tracks usage across programs. He organizes photos and digital files, prepares materials for meetings and events, and supports data entry and basic record keeping. In the gardens, he contributes to planting, watering, harvesting, and preparing produce for donation or sale, and provides hands-on help during Farmers’ Markets and volunteer days. He works alongside Smile Farmers to set up workspaces, offer encouragement, and model teamwork.

Background and Experience

• Earned an Associate in Science degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences at Nassau Community College
• Membership in the Tri-Beta Biology Honor Society and earned an honorable mention for his work in determining the link between autism and the microbiome
• Provides assistance in the Smile Farms garden at St. Catherine of Siena Hospital
• Experience assisting with horticulture tasks, produce handling, and community engagement activities

When he’s not working, Nick likes to go on nature walks, ride his bike, traveling, baking, and spending quality time with his dogs.
