DAVID MINDER

Director of Events and Stewardship

David Minder has a BA in Political Science and English/Writing from Texas Tech University and over 19 years of experience in non-profit engagement and development. He worked at several prestigious institutions in New York City, including Parsons School of Design, Pratt Institute, and The Cooper Union. He worked to engage the community, increase engagement, and raise vital scholarships and resources for students.

He joined the Planting Fields Foundation in 2022 and secured their largest grant to date, which will go to improving their grounds and visitor experience. He also consulted for the Institute for Career Development in 2023, an organization that helps people with disabilities find employment and education opportunities.

With a family background in farming, David is passionate about supporting local communities and agriculture. He previously volunteered at Red Hook Farms in Brooklyn, a farm that educates neighborhood youth. He also enjoys kayaking, hiking, photography, and being a dad. He is motivated to work in the non-profit sector to make a difference in the lives of others.

David is excited to bring his experience to Smile Farms and to support their life-changing mission. He looks forward to working with an organization that empowers individuals with varying abilities and creates meaningful opportunities for them.
