David Minder is the Director of Events & Stewardship at Smile Farms, where he leads fundraising and stewardship initiatives, engaging donors and strengthening support for the organization’s mission of creating meaningful opportunities for people with disabilities. With nearly two decades of experience in nonprofit development, David has helped organizations strengthen philanthropic communities through compelling storytelling, strategic fundraising, and cultivating meaningful donor relationships.
At Smile Farms, he oversees major fundraising events, including the annual Growing Together Gala, the Smile Farms Golf Outing, and other key initiatives that connect supporters to the impact of their giving. He also leads fundraising outreach and communications, ensuring Smile Farms’ message reaches and resonates with donors, partners, and the broader community.
Background & Experience:
- Earned a B.A. in Political Science and English/Writing from Texas Tech University.
- Brings 19+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, and event management.
- Worked in fundraising, event management, and community engagement roles at The New School, Pratt Institute, The Cooper Union, and The Packer Collegiate Institute.
- Most recently, David worked at Planting Fields Foundation, where he helped secure funding, including the organization's largest grant to date.
- Worked as a Fundraising Consultant for the Institute for Career Development (ICD), a nonprofit that provided career training, GED preparation, and employment services for people with disabilities.
Fun Fact:
Outside of work, David enjoys photography, kayaking, and hiking. Most of all, he loves spending time with his wife and son—whether it’s relaxing at home, exploring Long Island beaches, or playing video games together on the weekends.
