I recently joined the Smile Farms team and am elated to be a part of such an amazing organization that does incredible, lifechanging work. Smile Farms has debuted our first ever hot sauce, BurnAbility. And trust us…you can definitely feel the burn! Almost 340 pounds of sweet and hot peppers were grown by our farmers at the League Education and Treatment Center (LETC) campus this season. They turned their fall harvest into a marketable product—hot sauce, and we plan to double the number of peppers grown so we can keep the spice in your life. With the help of our partners at Brooklyn Grange, our peppers were bottled into two delicious specialty hot sauces. BurnAbility Red and BurnAbility Green—both activating your taste buds to feel a unique, spicy kick. If you haven’t tried BurnAbility, you need to!
We were lucky to launch Smile Farms hot sauce with pop-up sales at Salesforce in New York City and then at the 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. Headquarters in Carle Place, NY. It was exciting to see how enthusiastic colleagues were about Smile Farms’ mission and how the hot sauce came to be. Everyone had different reactions to feeling the burn. Some people exclaimed “Ow! I need water!” and others said the sauce was “Perfect to add to a meal.” The responses were the best part of people tasting both sauces at the pop-ups, each person had their own opinion of why BurnAbility is so unique and flavorful. To go even further, BurnAbility has built momentum in the hope of creating more signature Smile Farms products.
